Marieke Gouda With Smoked Cumin is an artisan, raw milk farmstead cheese produced by Holland’s Family Cheese in Thorp, Wisconsin, blending traditional Dutch *boerenkaas* methods with American hickory wood cold-smoking. Made from raw whole milk delivered warm via a "pipe-to-vat" system, it utilizes a washed-curd process and includes whole cumin seeds for flavor and preservation. Certified Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker Marieke Penterman leads production. Aged ≥60 days for safety, the cheese exhibits a sweet, smoky, and spicy sensory profile. It has won consistent top awards in major cheese competitions (2023–2025) and is sold as a high-end artisan product.
